With this product in the field of e-mobility, WECUBEX not only demonstrated the necessary patience, but also secured an innovative client for the Burgbernheim-based industrial firm. Following a lead-in and development period of almost three years, we delivered the first electric charging points to the client for final assembly.
We were able to make the most of our comprehensive expertise in flexible sheet metal and tube processing for this project. Drawing on our decades of experience in laser cutting technology, the complex ‘base structure’ of the charging point is manufactured from high-quality steel with a great deal of creativity and precision. Individual parts cut using tube and sheet metal laser cutting are then ‘joined’ using sophisticated laser welding technology and handed over ready for assembly. The functional and aesthetic requirements are immense and can only be met through a combination of highly qualified and motivated staff on the one hand, and state-of-the-art production facilities on the other.

Henrik Thiele, who, together with a business partner, is the mastermind behind the idea and co-founder of the company, also spoke rather boldly about his product as the “Apple of charging points” in an interview with the trade journal elecdrive.net. The intelligent combination of hardware and software is designed to deliver the greatest possible benefit to customers.
Founded in 2017, the start-up Qwello is a provider of AC charging stations for electric cars. Mr Thiele and his team’s vision is quite simple: easily accessible and user-friendly charging stations in public spaces.
Qwello’s charging stations are currently located in Hamburg, Munich and, soon, Frankfurt too. The concept also has an international focus, with plans to expand to other European cities outside Germany.
