What began as a visionary idea by founder Markus Bergmann has today become a sustainable driver of mobility in cities around the world: CARLA CARGO’s cargo trailers are revolutionising urban transport – and WECUBEX is proud to have been involved as a manufacturing partner from the very beginning.
Markus Bergmann placed his trust in our expertise at an early stage and needed the metal frames for his electrically assisted bicycle trailers.
Since then, we have manufactured these reliably and with the highest precision. And because CARLA CARGO has long since become the global market leader in bicycle cargo trailers, we have further expanded our collaboration.
Today, at the WECUBEX Systemtechnik site in Herbolzheim, we not only carry out robotic welding and assembly, but also powder coating of the robust trailer frames. This means that products used around the world are manufactured at our site – primarily in Germany and the EU, but also in major metropolitan areas, such as more than 300 CARLAs for Amazon in New York, where they are used by its subsidiary Whole Foods to deliver fruit and vegetables emissions-free and in a climate-friendly manner.
Especially in larger cities, for parcel deliveries, garden maintenance and even caretaker services, more and more companies are choosing CARLA CARGO as a sustainable transport solution. Thanks to our close partnership, we are also able to serve CARLA CARGO during peak periods of high demand. This cooperation stands for innovation, sustainability and regional value creation with a global impact – and is a prime example of how vision and manufacturing expertise go hand in hand.
