An integrated heating system, built-in monitoring or temperature measurement – modern technologies can give a steel sheet additional functions and therefore also increase its usefulness. This is exactly where we come in! WECUBEX Systemtechnik GmbH has therefore entered into a cooperation with the Austrian company voestalpine Stahl GmbH. The aim of this cooperation is to use an intelligent steel sheet called “tailormade functional steel” in many of your future applications.
Known by its abbreviation “tfs”, “tailormade functional steel” consists of cold-rolled steel strip. Conductive tracks are integrated into the coating of this steel strip and take on the function of sensors or electrical conductors. This means that no additional external sensors are required, as they can be integrated directly into your product as part of the manufacturing process. But what added value can be achieved through the integrated sensors? “Tailormade functional steel” enables four different functions:
tfs-operating
The steel sheet becomes a control panel. For example, you can integrate switches without requiring additional sensor technology.
tfs-heating
Do you actually need heating mats? Then tfs-heating is the right alternative, as the steel sheet can heat up to 100 degrees Celsius.
tfs-monitoring
With this function, the steel sheet can perform static monitoring or intrusion detection.
tfs-measuring
The steel sheet takes on tasks such as measuring load conditions, fill levels or temperature itself.
Overall, the intelligent steel sheet can be used in all areas where sheet steel is processed. This technology allows us to offer our customers an even broader portfolio.
